Dr. Nawal Al Mutawa is a consultant endocrinologist with over 12 years of experience in UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Endocrine Society (FCCE), Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE), and has been a member of the American Diabetes Association since 2003.
Dr. Al Mutawa has served as Medical Director at Kuwait Hospital from 2009 to 2015 and a member of the Drug Committee at MOH. She was a member of evaluation physicians and technicians in 2012 and was on the GCC diabetes disease fighting committee from 2007 to present time. She also organized national thyroid day in Sharjah for 7 years, plus she is currently on the National Committee for Diabetes Fighting since 2007
In her practice, Dr. Al Mutawa specializes in endocrinology and all forms of pituitary disorders/tumors and dysfunctions, including hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), goitre/nodules, parathyroid disorders, adrenal disorders such as addison’s disease (underactive adrenal glands), primary hyperaldosteronism (Conn’s Syndrome), cushing’s syndrome, pheochromocytoma (high blood pressure), obesity management, lipid disorders, polycistic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and hirsutism (excessive hair growth).
She also specializes in mineral metabolism, calcium and mineral disorders such as vitamin D deficiency/osteomalacia; osteoporosis; pagets disease; diabetes management.
