Dr. Arkan is an experienced, driven and highly dedicated Professor & Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who has achieved the highest clinical and academic degrees in one of the 10 best medical universities in the world, the Karolinska Institute, Sweden. Dr. Arkan is highly organized and has a passion for providing the highest quality of patient care. Dr. Arkan has achieved several international positions which have helped him gain extensive knowledge in managing fracture, sport injuries, and elective orthopedics.
Dr. Arkan’s subspecialties include joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee joints including difficult hip revision and primary knee cases, and foot & ankle trauma and elective surgeries. Dr. Arkan has experience in managing patients with chronic pain in the musculoskeletal system using different modalities such as medications, blockades and rehabilitative parameters.
Dr. Arkan obtained education from top universities including Baghdad University, Karolinska Institute Stockholm, and Umeå University in Sweden. Dr. Arkan gained teaching experience throughout his career through creating and maintaining a productive research and clinical environment in Västernorrland County and Sundsvall Teaching Hospital. Dr. Arkan also served as an examiner in the Swedish and European speciality examinations of orthopaedics and traumatology, both for the written and clinical parts. Dr. Arkan is appointment as a Full Professor and Consultant at the Department of Clinical Science and Education, Karolinska University. Dr. Arkan has done many important courses in leadership that have had a great impact on his leadership knowledge and experience.
